Editor's note:

I have a great level of self-confidence. I truly believe I can achieve anything that I want to achieve. This is why I constantly push myself beyond my limits. That’s how I went from earning N75,000 during NYSC to becoming a tech sis and getting that sweet sweet cash.

Starting my career, I wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted a career in tech or a related field.

I love my current role, but I’m more excited about the future. I’m currently a front-end engineer at Kora, but I don’t want to code forever. I want to progress to senior levels in the engineering field. That way, I have more time to myself and can live my baby girl lifestyle with plenty of funds in my account. I’m getting there soon!

For the woman looking to enter the engineering space or wanting to make a career change, here are my top tips for you:

1. Start from scratch. Nothing comes easy (take courses from w3schools, freecodecamp)

2. Find a mentor for times you feel stuck

3. Be prepared for sleepless nights

4. Focus- It’s a male-dominated field, don’t let that discourage you.

5. Avoid unhealthy competitions

Music is my poison. It gets me pumped for work. Here are some tracks in my work playlist. Enjoy!

For International Women’s Day, women of Kora are sharing their stories on working in tech as a woman and what it means to #EmbraceEquity, read the rest of the series here.
