Editor's note:

In the words of Napoleon Bonaparte, “If you want a thing done well, do it yourself.” Those were the words ringing in the head of the folks at Really Simple Social advertising when they decided to build their own social media promotions platform.

In 2021, we were searching for a social media promotions platform to help with exposure for a brand we were building. From our search, we couldn’t find Nigerian options with the capacity to deliver on our metrics at a reasonable price. We were already experienced in this space and decided to launch our option.

They were unable to find a social media tool that delivered the results they wanted at a reasonable price because the options in the market were either too expensive or unsuitable for their needs.

In advertising, agencies always have to balance the client’s expectations and deliverables without overshooting the client’s budget. So, getting a tool that works was important.

The first objective was to provide social media marketing services that delivered to client expectations while being cost-effective.

So, they built a solution to cater to that need and now help other agencies get the same result for their clients, not just in Nigeria but worldwide

We’ve grown from a small enterprise to a national brand with a developing international presence.

Changing how advertising agencies are perceived

In addition to building a social media promotion tool, RSS did something profound in the industry. They changed businesses’ perception of advertising agencies.

In this space, ‘untrustworthiness’ was the norm, with many agencies like ours committing to promises and not delivering or underdelivering. We brought trust and transparency to the market and, in a way, uplifted the image of the sector and the online retail space as a whole to something consumers could count on.

One of the ways they did this was to onboard Kora as their payment gateway. This made payment collection safe and seamless and improved trust.

We’ve been using Kora for about a year and a half now, and Kora has helped us improve customer satisfaction, which is a key metric in acquiring and retaining customers in this space. Before integrating Kora, up to 90% of customer tickets were related to unresolved failed transactions.

These tickets were difficult to resolve, took time (both customer and support staff time) and invariably led to customer churn. With Kora, a significant amount of these failed transactions - up to 85% - are automatically resolved. In effect, this improved customer retention, reduced operational costs, and further solidified the brand's image of trust.

At Kora, our goal is to connect Africa to the world and connect the world to Africa via payments. We provide All The Support You Need ™️ for startups and businesses working in Africa to start, scale and thrive on the continent.
